Description:
The
MKb42(H) was the immediate forerunner to the
MP43/44 family of assault rifles. A couple thousand
were sent to the Eastern Front for trials under
combat conditions
in late 42/ early 43. The MKb42(W) was produced
by the Walther factory in response to a specification
calling for an 'assault rifle' chambered for
the 7.92mm Kurz round.
